The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on our venues and events. The safety of our guests, staff, and artists is of paramount importance, and in continued response to Governor Wolf's order, effective March 19, 2020 until further notice, to prohibit the operation of all businesses that are not life-sustaining, we have come to the extremely difficult decision to suspend Pittsburgh Cultural Trust events, extending through June 14.

As a result, The EQT Children's Theater Festival, and all performances of Nest have been cancelled. Ticket buyers were contacted by email on April 20, 2020. Please check your email for ticket options from the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust (noreply@trustarts.org). We appreciate your response within two weeks. If we have not connected with you, please Contact Us.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience as we process a large number of requests.

Akin Theatre (United Kingdom)

A stunning sensory performance for babies (0-14 months), their parents, and caretakers. Unfolding in a custom-built performance tent, Nest takes audiences on a journey through the seasons. It uses playful poetry supported by an original score, movement, puppetry, tactile play and complete engagement of the senses to awaken every baby’s curiosity and remind grownups of the wonder of being in the world for the first time. Gentle, surprising and magical, Nest leaves audience members “enchanted” and with “a sense of wonder and excitement.”

Show Content: This intimate performance is set in a tent, in which babies and caregivers are seated in a circle. Seating is general admission, and the Front of House team will guide audience members to their seats on the floor. The show features music, tactile objects, puppets, mirrors, and surprise moments. Themes include creative play, sharing, teamwork, and listening.

Please Note: Audiences will be asked to remove their shoes for this performance. Seating is on floor cushions in an intimate indoor performance tent. There will be no late seating for this performance.
