BNY Mellon Presents JazzLive @Home

How it connects: BNY Mellon Presents JazzLive @ Home is a free online video series produced by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. We're showcasing some of the finest jazz musicians on the scene today, from Pittsburgh and beyond, and give you an inside look at their influences and careers, reflections on current events, and more.

Where to start: Catch up with acclaimed bandleader, trumpeter, composer, educator, and activist Sean Jones!

Harris Theater @ Home

How it connects:

Harris Theater @ Home is a virtual cinema accessible through our website. You can purchase tickets to films currently unavailable for public rental or sale and the film distributor will share a portion of your ticket payment with the Harris Theater!

Now available for streaming, Ella Fitzgerald: Just One of Those Things, follows Ella Fitzgerald's extraordinary journey over six decades as her sublime voice transforms the tragedies of her own life and the troubles of her times into joy. The film uses never-before-seen images and unheard interviews to bring Ella Fitzgerald to life and to tell the story of her music -- a black woman who makes her career in the face of horrifying racism. pioneer woman film critic Pauline Kael and how her charismatic, controversial, witty, and discerning prose as a writer for The New Yorker famously championed the New Hollywood Cinema of the late 1960s and ‘70s. Bookish in the ‘Burgh @ Home presented by Riverstone Books

You no longer have to wait once a year for new Bookish in the ‘Burgh @ Home content! Over the next several months we are offering book clubs, writing workshops, a novel writing group, and more curated by our Bookish in the ‘Burgh Festival Director and Teen Ambassadors.

Where to start:

Mark your calendars for a virtual book club discussion hosted by Kelsey Ford, director of Bookish in the 'Burgh and a Bookish Teen Ambassador featuring the novel LET ME HEAR A RHYME by Tiffany D. Jackson. Participants will receive a Zoom meeting invitation after completing registration for the event.
