The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and its potential impact on our venues and events. The safety of our guests, staff, and artists is of paramount importance, and following Governor Wolf's order to prohibit the operation of all businesses that are not life-sustaining, effective March 19, 2020 until further notice, all Pittsburgh Cultural Trust performances, exhibitions, films, and events through May 10 have been suspended.

As a result, this JazzLive performance has been cancelled. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

A multi-media jazz appreciation month event featuring live performance, video, recorded music and a presentation by Thomas Wendt.

In 1936, clarinetist Benny Goodman hired pianist Teddy Wilson creating the first publicly integrated band in American history. Goodman then hired vibraphonist Lionel Hampton and guitarist Charlie Christian. Wilson, Hampton and Christian were each innovative pioneers on their respective instruments, but their courage to integrate America's Bandstand with the Goodman band is rarely discussed and is an essential component to understanding America's cultural history.

Mark Strickland - Guitar

Paul Cosentino - Clarinet / Saxophone

Andy Reamer - Vibraphone

Theron Brown - Piano
