The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on our venues and events. The safety of our guests, staff, and artists is of paramount importance, and in continued response to Governor Wolf's order, effective March 19, 2020 until further notice, to prohibit the operation of all businesses that are not life-sustaining, we have come to the extremely difficult decision to suspend additional Pittsburgh Cultural Trust events, extending through June 14.
As a result, this JazzLive Concert has been cancelled. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
A multi-media jazz appreciation month event featuring live performance, video, recorded music and a presentation by Thomas Wendt.
New York City's famed 52nd Street was not just the street where BeBop flourished in the mid 1940's. It was also a place where Jazz of many kinds existed, as well as where people of all walks of life came together, intermingling with the music. Whether you liked Eddie Condon's early Jazz groups, piano virtuoso Art Tatum, or the new sounds of Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, "the street" had something for you. It was an important cultural meeting ground that helped America get to know each other a little better.
